Observations are photographic descriptions of strictly what we saw. That is, they are descriptions of what we saw without any evaluations, judgments, interpretations, or narratives. Staying with our observations helps us get on the same page with other people, they avoid triggering fight-flight-freeze reactions, and they help us maintain focus on the present moment.
